Irish festivals and their Irish names
- ▶ Lá Fhéile Bríde (1 Feabhra) — St Brigid's Day. A new public holiday in Ireland from 2023.
- ▶ Lá Fhéile Pádraig (17 Márta) — St Patrick's Day. National holiday. Largest parades in Dublin and Limerick.
- ▶ Cáisc (spring) — Easter. Páisc was a key date in 1916 Rising.
- ▶ Bealtaine (1 Bealtaine) — ancient Celtic festival marking start of summer.
- ▶ Lá Fhéile Eoin (24 Meitheamh) — St John's Eve. Bonfires in many parts of rural Ireland.
- ▶ Lúnasa (1 Lúnasa) — ancient harvest festival. The Puck Fair in Kerry is the most famous survival.
- ▶ Samhain (31 Deireadh Fómhair / 1 Samhain) — ancient Celtic new year. Origin of Halloween.
