1. Who we are

LessonKind ("we," "us") publishes free teaching resources at lessonkind.com. This policy explains what data we collect when you visit, and how it's used. Contact us at hello@lessonkind.com or via our contact page with any privacy questions.

2. No account required

You don't need to create an account or provide any personal information to browse the site, download resources, or use our free tools.

3. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how pages are used in aggregate — which pages are popular, how people navigate the site, and similar statistics. GA4 operates under Google's Consent Mode v2: analytics cookies are not set until you click Accept on the cookie banner. If you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics cookies are placed and no data is sent to Google. If you accept, GA4 measures page views, session length and similar aggregate statistics — we don't use it to identify you personally. See our cookie policy for more detail.

4. Data stored in your browser

Some of our tools (for example, the label generator, handwriting practice sheet generator and the class handover document tool) save what you type using your browser's local storage, so you can leave the page and come back later without losing your work. This data stays on your device — it's never sent to our servers, and we have no access to it. Clearing your browser's site data will remove it. We also use local storage for small preferences, like remembering that you've dismissed a banner or chosen a country/curriculum setting.

5. Affiliate and retailer cookies

Some pages contain affiliate links to Amazon and to AWIN- and CJ Affiliate (Commission Junction)-network retailers. If you click through and visit a retailer's site, that retailer may set its own tracking cookies as part of its affiliate programme. We don't control these cookies — see the relevant retailer's own privacy/cookie policy, and our affiliate disclosure page for how these relationships work.

6. Contact form

If you use our contact form or email us directly, we'll use the information you provide (such as your email address and message) only to respond to your enquiry. We don't add you to a mailing list or share this information with third parties.

7. Children's privacy

LessonKind is built for use by teachers, not directly by children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Some of our downloadable resources are designed for pupils to fill in on paper (for example, printable worksheets) — nothing typed on paper is ever transmitted to us.

8. Data retention

Aggregate GA4 analytics data is retained per Google's standard retention settings for our account. Browser-stored tool data (section 4) is retained only on your own device, for as long as you keep it there. Contact form messages are kept only as long as needed to resolve your enquiry.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you're located, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal data we hold about you. Since we collect very little personal data (see sections 2-4 above), this is usually limited to any contact form correspondence. Email hello@lessonkind.com to make a request.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes — for example, if we add a new tool that handles data differently. The "last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.
