Junior Infants activities — Mé Féin (Myself) and Mo Scoil
- Draw a picture of yourself — what do you look like? What do you like?
- Who is in my family? Draw your family.
- My school — draw the front of the school. What can you see?
- A walk around the school — collect leaves, pebbles, and take photographs.
- Who helps us? — meet the principal, secretary, caretaker, dinner ladies. What do they do?
- My classroom — draw a map of the classroom. Where is the door? The windows?
- Colour in a map of Ireland — find where we live.
Senior Infants activities — Mo Cheantar (My Local Area)
- A local walk — what do you see? Photograph buildings, signs, trees, animals.
- Draw a map of your street/road. Include houses, trees, any shops.
- Community helpers — interview a local helper (Garda, post person, shopkeeper) with prepared questions.
- Our town/village — find pictures of your local area. What has changed?
- Seasonal changes — photograph the same tree each season. What changes?
- The Irish landscape — look at photographs. Can you spot mountains, rivers, bogland, coastline?
- Make a simple treasure map of the school grounds. Give it to a friend to follow.
