How to do it

  1. POTATO PRINTING (approx 5p per child): 1 potato per 2 children, poster paint, paper.
  2. SALT DOUGH (approx 10p per child): flour, salt, water — bought in bulk.
  3. PAPER WEAVING (approx 10p): paper and scissors only.
  4. LEAF PRINTING (approx 15p): collect leaves outdoors, use ready-mixed paint.
  5. NEWSPAPER HATS (approx 5p): a single sheet of newspaper per hat, folding only.
  6. COLLAGE FROM RECYCLING (approx 20p): collect magazines, card, foil — cut and glue.
  7. ORIGAMI (approx 20p): one sheet of good paper per child.
  8. BUBBLE PAINTING (approx 20p): poster paint, washing-up liquid, straw, paper.
💡 Tips Calculate cost per child carefully: a 500ml bottle of poster paint at £3 covers 60+ sessions, making it pence per use. Paper is the biggest per-child cost — buying in reams rather than packs dramatically reduces price.
