If you're a parent whose child does breakfast club or after-school club, you might find the article above genuinely useful for evaluating whether your setting is running well. The markers are observable — visit at a busy time, watch the adults' eyes, listen to the noise level, look at the systems. Most settings are doing their best. A few aren't, and that's worth knowing.
