What you'll need
- Raw eggs (minimum 2 per child — some will crack)
- Thick needle or pin
- Bowl
- Egg cups or stands for drying
- Acrylic paint, washi tape, fine markers, or Ukrainian egg dye
- Clear varnish
How to do it
- Pierce a small hole in one end of the egg with a thick needle.
- Pierce a slightly larger hole in the other end.
- Blow through the small hole — the egg contents come out the large end into a bowl.
- Rinse the shell gently under running water. Leave to dry completely.
- Decorate using acrylic paint and a fine brush — start with background colour.
- Add detail when dry.
- Optional: varnish to protect.
💡 Tips
This is harder than it looks — try it yourself first. Some children will need help with the blowing. Accept that some eggs crack — have extras. The broken shells can be crushed for mosaic use.
