What you'll need

  • A5 white card
  • Finger paints or poster paint in bright colours
  • Green marker or paint for stems/leaves
  • Optional: lavender, organza bags, ribbon

How to do it

  1. FINGERPRINT FLOWERS: dip fingertip in paint and press repeatedly in a circle to form petals. Add a stem and leaves with green marker. Write message inside.
  2. MARBLED BOOKMARK: cut card into bookmark shape (4cm x 15cm). Drop paint into a tray of water, swirl with a toothpick. Lay bookmark on the surface briefly. Lift and dry.
  3. LAVENDER SACHET: cut two squares of fabric (8x8cm). Machine or hand stitch three sides. Fill with a small handful of dried lavender. Stitch the fourth side. Tie with ribbon.
💡 Tips Sensitive approach: frame as a celebration for 'the special person who cares for you at home' rather than specifically 'your mum'. Allow children to make it for any important adult.
