What you'll need
- Paper lunch bags
- Googly eyes
- Coloured card for features
- Scissors
- Glue
- Markers, paint, or coloured pencils
- Wool, tissue paper, or crepe paper for hair
How to do it
- Identify the flat bottom of the bag as the face — this folds as the 'mouth' when a hand goes in.
- Glue eyes to the front of the flat bottom panel.
- Cut a mouth shape from red card, glue inside the flap.
- Add a nose, ears, hair, or other features as appropriate.
- Decorate the body of the bag.
- Allow to dry, then use by inserting a hand so the flat base is held by the fingers.
💡 Tips
Fabulous for retelling stories — assign different characters for a guided retell activity. Also great for after-school club: a quick, satisfying project with no mess and a clear end product.
