What you'll need
- White or silver A4 paper
- Scissors (sharp — this really matters)
- Optional: glitter, spray paint, hanging thread
How to do it
- Fold the paper in half to make a rectangle.
- Fold in half again to make a square.
- Fold diagonally to make a triangle.
- Fold in thirds — bringing one third over, then the other third over that to form a narrow triangle.
- Cut across the top to make a clean edge.
- Cut shapes from both straight edges and the folded edge — V shapes, curves, notches.
- Unfold carefully to reveal the snowflake.
💡 Tips
Sharp scissors are essential — blunt ones tear rather than cut. Demonstrate the folding sequence very slowly under a visualiser. Each child should do 3-4 before they're confident.
