What you'll need
- Thick string or wool, 30cm lengths
- Poster paint
- Cartridge paper A4
- Plastic spoons
How to do it
- Fold paper in half and unfold it.
- Dip string in paint, leaving a tail hanging out.
- Lay the string in loops on one half of the paper.
- Fold the paper over the string.
- Hold paper down firmly with one hand and pull the string out with the other in one smooth motion.
- Unfold to reveal the symmetrical design.
💡 Tips
Multiple strings of different colours make more complex designs. For butterflies, add a body and antennae with a black marker after the paint dries.
